  2. Take 1/2 cup Yellow moong dal

  10. Get 3-4 spoons Green coriander mint chutney ,
  11. Make ready to taste, salt
  12. Make ready as per taste, Chat masala to sprinkle, red chilli powder
  13. Prepare as required Finely chopped beetroot pieces Sev and coriander lev for garnish

A favorite snack of Sindhi community that is so unique in taste. Similarly we like to eat Moong dal paratha made with yellow moong dal. Dal is rich in protein and work well with calcium of cheese. You can skip cheese if you want and replace with paneer or add more layer of cucumber and beets with tomato.

Steps to make Dal Sandwich:
  1. For Dal preparations… wash and soak moong dal for 15-20 minutes. Pressure cook it with salt and turmeric powder for about 2 whistles first whistle on full gas and 2nd whistle on low flame.
  2. Once it's done, switch off the flame and let the pressure release automatically. Open the cooker and whisk it nicely and keep the dal of medium thick consistency.
  3. Temper dal with ghee. Add coriander powder red chilli powder, hing & Garam masala powder & switch off the flame. Pour it over dal and simmer for few minutes
  4. Chop the vegetables. Sprinkle salt, red chilli powder and chat masala. Mix it well.
  5. Now to assemble the sandwich… - - Take bread slices. On one slice apply butter. Arrange potato onions and cucumber roundels. Sprinkle chaat masala and red chilli powder.
  6. Now take another slice and apply green chutney over it. Place it on previous bread slice. Now heat the griddle/pan. Put some butter/ ghee.
  7. Keep this sandwich on it to roast on both sides. - - Take this on serving plate.Cut into  pieces. Pour prepared hot dal over it with spoon. Sprinkle chaat masala.
  8. In the last, drizzle green chutney over it. Place beetroot chunks over it. - - Garnish with farsan/sev and fresh coriander leaves. - - Serve hot.

Dal is rich in protein and work well with calcium of cheese. You can skip cheese if you want and replace with paneer or add more layer of cucumber and beets with tomato.
