Achari aalu is my way of consuming potatoes. People in Pakistan do make this dish but i dont know the recipe, this is my own recipe and its very quick and easy. Whenever I have made this dish, people have appreciated a lot, especially my sister. Do try this and enjoy the sour and spicy… A masaledar dish, Achari Aloo Recipe is a spicy and tangy dry potato sabzi that is spiced with the punjabi style pickle that is finished off with some coriander leaves and a splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Instructions to make Aachari Aalu:
  1. Peel and boil potatoes, till 2 whistles on medium flame.
  2. Cut potatoes in cubes. You can use baby potatoes instead of big.
  3. Take all the spices.
  4. Marinate potato cubes with turmeric, salt, red chilli powder, aamchur powder, coriander powder. And keep it for 10 minutes. You can skip this step and may add these spices in normal sabji way while cooking.
  5. Heat oil in kadhai, (you can use sarso oil if you like).
  6. Add mustard, cumin, Fenugreek and onion seed in it. Let it crackle nicely. Then add Asafoetida, green chillies, curry leaves and ginger paste in it.
  7. Add marinated potatoes in it. Mix it well. Cook it for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add garam masala, mix it well. Add ready pickle masala and Chopped coriander leaves then off the flame.
  9. Our Aachari Aalu is ready, serve it with paratha or puri for nic taste.
