I prefer to make it with the stand mixer mainly because the mixer is stronger and I don't have to babysit it. Gradually add sugar and lemon extract. Beat at high speed until thickened. Start mixing on low, and slowly add the milk, corn syrup, and vanilla extract. Continue to whip on medium until smooth.
