Chandrakala - A sweet is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. It is easy, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. They’re nice and they look fantastic. Chandrakala - A sweet is something that I have loved my entire life.
One such is its local sweetmeat named 'Chandrakala'. These are little fried pastry parcels filled with khoya/mawa. The sweet is shaped like a crescent moon, therefore the name Chandrakala. Chandrakala sweet, suryakala sweet both are Indian Diwali sweets prepared with maida and khoya as main ingredients.
To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook chandrakala - a sweet using 16 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.
The ingredients needed to make Chandrakala - A sweet:
- Prepare For the stuffing
- Prepare 300 gms khoya
- Prepare 2 tbsp suji
- Get 3 tbsp gratted coconut
- Get as needed Chopped dry fruits–almond, pita, kaju, kismis
- Take as needed Powder sugar
- Prepare as needed Ghee
- Make ready 1/2 tsp green cardamom and black pepper powder
- Get Sugar syrup
- Make ready as needed Sugar
- Make ready as needed Water
- Take as needed Kesar
- Make ready as needed Choti elachi/green cardamom
- Make ready For the chandrakala
- Prepare 3 cups madia/ all purpose flour
- Get as needed Ghee
Chandrakala gets the name from the shape. Chandrakala is a half moon shaped sweet which is really really tasty one. I will continue sharing my diwali stories and many more sweets in my coming post. Steps to make Chandrakala - A sweet:
- For for the stuffing. In pan put ghee then add the suji, fry it till little brown. Then add the dry fruits and coconut. Fry it and keep it aside. Now in the same pan put the mawa. Let it soften. Now in a bowl add the mawa, the suji and coconut. Let it cool. Then add the powder sugar, elachi powder and black pepper powder. Mix them all.
- Now take the madia add ghee to it atleast 3 tbsp then mix it fully. Now add cold water and make the dough. It should not be very soft. When the dough is done. Grease some ghee on it. And cover it with a wet cloth so that it doesn't become dry.
- Now make small dough. Roll it into round shape like puri. Put the stuffing. Put water on the side. Put another on top of it. Now fold the sides with soft hand so that the filling dose not comes out.
- Now in a pan put ghee and fry them. Then transfer it to the sugar syrup.
